GICLEE
(ZHEE-CLAY) PRINTS: Used on all our Giclee on Paper
and Giclee on Canvas works, this process is unmatched in
its exquisite color and details, and has quickly become
a new print standard for museums, galleries, publishers,
and artists. First captured digitally, and then refined
by the artist and master printer through a series of proofs
to ensure the color and clarity, the Giclee process is the
closest possible reproduction of an original artwork afforded
by technology. Giclee works use a specialized ink spray
process (Giclee is French for "to spray") and we use archival
pigmented inks to insure the longevity of over 125 years.
Giclee prints
appear in the most prestigious museum collections in the
world, including The Metropolitan Museum (New York), Los
Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art, The Los Angeles County
Museum, The British Museum, National Museum of Art, San
Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and countless others.
In the end, these
reproductions are of such quality that the prints resemble
original artwork with each giclee print being hand-embellished
and signed and numbered by the artist. No two are ever exactly
alike.
PRINTS
ON PAPER: Printed on Provence Rag fine art paper,
a beautiful, softly textured fine art watercolor paper made
in the United States. It is 100%cotton fiber and mould-made,
and is acid free and linen free. This heavy weight paper
is 310 gsm (grams per square meter) and is specifically
engineered for fine art Giclee printmaking. The combination
of this paper and the eight color archival pigmented inkset
that is used to produce our prints, creates a stunning image
that holds faithful to the color, density, and integrity
of the original artwork.
